LightWave 2018 includes major changes in functionality that directly affect exrTrader:

===== New Buffer System =====

The [[exrtrader2018:buffers|new buffers]] in LightWave allows for user created buffers, buffers created on the fly (i.e. by shaders) as well as light groups.
All of these are supported by exrTrader 2018.

We've added the concept of buffer groups to exrTrader to make it easier to work with the increased amount of buffers available now.

===== Removal of VIPER =====

Since VIPER has been removed, exrTrader now includes a [[exrtrader2018:viewer|custom image viewer]] to inspect buffers.

===== Miscellaneous =====

exrTrader 2018 is based on the latest version of EXR, including the support for new compression modes.
