+When there's strange audio playing back in Layout, such as while using DB&W's Audio Frequency Node, you're hearing (apparently) your computer's fluctuation in processing time from one frame to the next and it can be fixed by opening the global Properties panel, selecting the General tab and clicking the "Play at Exact Rate" parameter's check box to an ON state.
